Talibe Boys beg on the street as a way of life

For decades human rights advocates have been trying to thwart the trafficking
of young boys into such labor, it was painful to observe their conditions in real time...
Dakar seems to be experiencing an irreversible stronghold on the the culture of Talibe and their Marabout teachers.  Multiple generations have grown up assuming this way of life, with layers of oppression & aggression stifling the maturation of 10s of thousands of boys, and the economy of 100s of thousands of Senegalese.  Although the nation seems to be paralyzed in such a state, there is HOPE.  We spent a day with one of our missionaries who devoted two years, undercover, meeting the practical needs of these boys - day after day;  offering them a meal, a safe place to play, a place to watch a video, a regular bible study, and an environment where they could let their guard down and simply be a kid - a moment where they are not consumed by survival mode.
